Gender and racial equality- holy grail missions worth chasing, highly unlikely to achieve.

Evening to you lots, the just ended week has been of mixed feelings for me, have not really slept well because I am working on a project so I am stressed out like a worn rubber band. On the other hand, my old dear club almost gave me an heart attack, as a long time fan I am used to these things, but this felt different, thanks to Auba and Saka I am able to a scribe for y'all from my soft mat and not sick bay. Alright enough of that, it is good to be back here, I am back with my rumblings again, this time with a rather interesting take on a topic, seeing the topic alone can prompt prejudice for this article, even before reading it. But it's good to have you all reading on the blog, keep up.

Do I want all genders to be equal? Yes. Do I want to be able to grab a drink at a bar full of Whites without fear of being discriminated? Hell yes. Do I feel these is, in its entirety, possible? Frankly No. I know we all want to feel like a modern human and all, we all want to conform to a standard and all, it's all good and fun.

Last year, I was trying to wrap my head around this topic trying to conceptualize it. It became clearer when a nonsense friend of mine said something, he said and I quote "equality is impossible because we are not identical" this quote solved all my problem, eureka made a poof sound in my head and that proverbial bulb connected to power. Lack of identicality means lack of equality, it is as simple and basic as that. Let us complicate it shall we?

Naturally, a man is different with different features from a woman, physically and otherwise, this in itself means we can not be viewed equally. On the average a man is stronger than a woman, it is the way it is, by that mere fact the society views them differently from a woman this view, untraceable but linked, leads to many things in the society, things like expecting the man to do the heavy liftings even if the woman is physically able/stronger than the guy, because on the average the society ascribes strength to the male gender. Ever wondered why in the movie titanic the women were rescued before the males? Most will find solace in the "the woman gives birth" booth, it was the titanic that was on foundering not the whole world, I do not mean to sound harsh but I doubt if their deaths would not have made any difference to reproductive business of just a street, they were saved first because the society have a conception that a man can survive more than the female a conception that extended from their physicality.

Females are built in a less aggressive but tender form with different features from males, no tough muscles and all, a female with tough muscles is seen as having a man's attribute and not that of their gender. As such, the society sees them as a gender that can not defend herself against the male and needs to be protected and cared for, a role which females gladly embrace even the most extreme feminist wants to be cared for. This gender assigned role, forms the basis of everything pro gender-equality camp are fighting for or against. Now the "defend herself" I meant there was defending herself in a brawl, which is the most primitive and natural way for humans  to settle disputes. This primitive and natural ability of the male gender to be better than the female gender in a brawl, untraceable but linked, has led to the way the society views a man and the respect they accord to them as a opposed to a female.

We are intelligent animals, sure, but we are animals still, as animals, animalistic primitiveness though suppressed forms the foundation of our being this primitiveness can only be suppressed but can never be removed, one needs to study the animal kingdom to be able to draw tenable comparison between our world and theirs, the way animals view strength is similar to us, and also untraceable but linked, has led to many things in their society too, like who eats or mates first.

If you notice in the animal world, I did not give credence to the male animals as the superior I gave credence to "strength" this is because, though usually the male, in the animal world the gender, who on the average, has the better strength rules irrespective of the gender. Hyenas are ruled by females simply because the females are bigger and stronger than males, it is as simple as that. This is where the different lies in contrast to our own world, because with us even if the female have the "strength" she is denied the right to be dominant, strength there can mean better qualified. This differential line is where myself as pro gender-equality feels the battle should be geared not the "he/she got this good/bad treatment because he is a male/female" paradigm, because the truth is that either genders has its good and bad that its gender affords us. If you have the strength, dominate, that is how it should be. Rough right? The competition for superiority can be non-primitive and civilized but in whichever form it should happen.

Have you ever thought about how weird it will look if the male genders starts fighting for their own gender equality, with placards? This has not happened not because the males do not have grievances to report, like the pressure of the responsibility of becoming a man but the society has labelled them as being the strong unflinching gender and the female the subtle gender, trust me the excos of the "equality for the male gender movement", if there were, will all die single, lol, doing that makes them look less of a man to the society and the females wants to be with a man. It is a natural instinct that is unconsciously acted upon, same goes to the males when it comes to their female preference.

Equality is unachievable, it's the rule of the world, there has to be a superior and this superior must have the attributes of a superior. It will amaze you to know that in essence the female gender is not really fighting for equality but for superiority and dominance, if they can attain the "strength" let them have it. We need to understand that physical strength alone does not cut it again when it comes to what strength denotes.

Same logic applies to racism, lack of identicality means lack of equality. I sometimes imagine myself as a black entering a school cafeteria full of whites  for the first time without any friend and I spot a thicket of Blacks around a table, my first instinct will always be to approach the blacks in the cafeteria, this is not because I am racist but because I will have a sense of belongingness with them as opposed to the whites, it is just instinctual, it is not taught, it is just what it is, hence normal. The Whites currently holds the "strength" cards for dominance, they are the colonizers, the instigators of civilization, business, scientific and technological advancement. If the blacks too holds these cards we will be seen as the dominant racist race. It is not a matter of the skin color, but what the color represents because believe me it could have been any skin color.

If you have the strength card, you should be the dominant one, be it a gender or race, it is the way the world is modeled and you will be challenged for your dominance which is what is happening, the dominant figures are been challenged, rightly so. The competition will continue to happen, because the "strength" card cannot be shared but can be snatched. If the female gender can somehow be perceived by the society as having the "strength" cards and the black race somehow snatch the cards, the tables will only be turned not shared. The only shortcut is if we are able to achieve not an holy grail now but an impossibility of not ascribing dominance to "strength" and all it means, well then we will not be humans anymore.

Even each gender in itself has not and cannot attain equality, men are expected to be tall and strong, a man that has failed to have these attributed is viewed different by the society, as less superior, from the man that has managed to achieve it same goes to the female gender and races. I watched a video on twitter yesterday about 4 teenagers that debated on the racist prejudice that exists even within Africa, the Ethiopian teen asserted that he feels superior to others because his ancestors once ruled most parts of Africa, he distinguished himself from blacks even though he accepted that he has a "burnt" skin, the only similarity he shares with blacks.

Hmm, I think y'all get it now, of course gender and racial equality in whichever light you decide to view it is worth chasing, that is why I call it an Holy grail, achievable but almost impossible to achieve -you just keep chasing it- to achieve it the gender or race cannot force its way there, it must possess, directly or indirectly, the untraceable but linked features that birthed that status in the first place. The take home of my scribing is that if a gender or race somehow achieves it, it will be not become equal or match up with former superior race or gender, it will become, in its own right, the superior and dominant gender or race. Thank you for reading with an open mind. Ciao, catch you soon, happy Sabbath.

Oh Yah, the "society" is formed by and made up of the male and female, hope that makes it better.

  1. Interesting... buh the movement of gender equality (Feminist POV) is to have equal access to resources, more inclusion in economic and political set up, abolishing girl child marriage, increasing the number of girl child in school not being the dominating gender (based on "strength").

    1. For a woman to enjoy what they've been deprived off, I get it. I stated the reasons why they've been deprived off it, untraceable but linked, the campaign should be supported to further thin and blurr the line. But can the line disappear?

  2. Nice write up. I perceive that you were very careful with your choice of words. When people talk about gender equality, they usually have an image of women refusing to be the weaker vessels and fighting to dominate the men. This is not the case and people with such mindset need reorientation. The fight for gender equality is for people to enjoy (and have access to) equal social and economic rights irrespective of their gender and we all know which gender has been the most affected.
Gender equality is therefore not a topic to be dismissed with an air of impossibility.
We should rather strive to see how this can be accomplished little by little for example supporting the girl-child education.

    1. I agree with you on this. True I was trying to be careful, I called it an Holy grial Misson worth chasing. Because there as been misuse of the said privilege and it needs to stop. I scribed about the difference in the animal world and ours, women are not given opportunities even when they have the "strength" or qualified for it. Which needs to change. Necessitating the need for campaign for gender equality
